CourseSmart is looking for an experienced software engineer who is familiar with the Python programming language and can lead the development of our middleware layer used to facilitate integrations with partners and institutional customers. Our middleware is a multi-tenant architecture that provides a customizable, service-based family of educational capabilities designed specifically to deliver eTextbooks and other digital assets to educational institution enterprise platforms (e.g.,Learning Management Systems, Student Information Systems, Campus Portals and Integrated Library Systems) for students and faculty. You will be responsible for developing new services as well as managing the existing services and working together with our business development and product management teams as we integrate with more and more organizations.
* In-depth expertise with Python and the Django framework
* A solid understanding of databases and SQL (preferably MySQL)
* Experience developing web-oriented, scalable services (preferably utilizing RESTful-style APIs)
* Experience developing with virtualized services (preferably using Amazon’sEC2 services)
