Ruby Rookies: operation Project Euler at Zendesk

Ruby Rookies unite!

Goal - Let's focus on the basics. During the month of March, we improved and polished our Ruby skills using Project Euler. In April, we'll tackle the last batch & use the time to catch up on problems we never solved.

Toward the end of the session, we may take time to discuss problems and share solutions.

Preparation -
Go to Project Euler site, and create an account. Then start learning!

4/3 (Wed) - Problems 16-20 or catch-up
4/17 (Wed) - Problems 20-25 or catch-up

* Even if you've never coded before, feel free to stop-in and get started.  We can start you on something basic. You'll want a good text editor (google "sublime" or "textmate" or "notepad++") and have Ruby installed on your machine.

More Prep -
If you're new to programming, and want a place to start, please check out:

#1. Codecademy ruby modules
#2. Code School's Try Ruby module intro

Food - Thanks to Zendesk for light food/drinks!

Thanks for organizing this, pretty awesome. Gotta go through a Ruby tutorial again I think, Ruby programming without the rails is a whole other beast.

Looking forward to the next installment of this awesome meetup! I've set up a gist for euler problems in Ruby:
    https://gist.github.com/lisafeat...
So far I've only gotten the first 10 (except #8) and #16. Would love pointers on the ones involving matrices!

Thanks - this is good. I would recommend against posting solutions, since everyone should have the pleasure of struggling through these problems. However, a gist of tips/pointers would be great ... and links to useful methods/references you have used.
