Field trips ... does it bring back memories? Memories down the RoR lane? That's ruby on rails, btw. Let's learn Rails!
You know it's been fun solving Euler problems in Ruby, but you also want to keep learning Rails. Come join the good folks at Rails School and check out the Noisebridge hacker space!
Gabe and his friends are awesome teachers, and I want to share this resource with the community. (Thanks for hosting this, guys.)
[How do you get to Noisebridge? https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Getting_Here]
Direct RSVP for Rails School - http://www.railsschool.org/l/rails-security-basics
What - Learn rails with Rails School
Where - At Noisebridge
Whom? - Beginners welcome ... please have Rails and Ruby set-up on your machine. If you don't know how to do this, reach out to me in advance (david kim: [masked] or daviddarden11 at gmail)
Format - So basically, this is a 2-hour guided tour through some Rails-related topic, and usually involves generating a new rails app. Pace is pretty quick ...
*Note - Space really is limited at the Noisebridge rails class (I'm not kidding) - so please update RSVP accordingly so that those who really want to learn can learn.
I would love help in co-organizing or brain-storming together for our group. If you've enjoyed our meetings, and interested in helping out with the Ruby Rookies in future, please let me know!
