9:00am-5:00pm: Workshop

After Party - location TBA

Super big thanks to our sponsor and host, Tapjoy!

And to our partners at the Latino Startup Alliance

We're looking for workshop volunteers! We always need teachers and TAs.

We also have many other (non-technical) roles available, including check-in, keeping track of glitches in the documentation, taking pictures, posting throughout to the day to social networks, setting up rooms/equipment, etc.

Watch out for an email (to wherever your Meetup.com emails go) with a survey so we can figure out who will be there when, what everyone wants to teach/TA/volunteer for, etc.

We need your full name to give the guards so they allow you upstairs (include it when we send out the survey, we need surveys returns

If you haven't been to a Railsbridge Teacher training, well be holding one on March 8th. http://www.sfruby.info/events/111569042/

Transportation: Tapjoys's office is located in downtown San Francisco, on Sutter St one block from the Montgomery Street BART/MUNI stations. If you're driving, there are several parking garages in the area as well as metered street parking (Downtown SF isn't the most fun place to find parking). Bikes are not allowed in the building and there is very limited bike parking (i.e. parking meters) outside.

We'll be teaching the regular Suggestotron curriculum to anyone who wants it.  Since we also have the new intermediate curriculum we can teach that if anyone is interested in using it for the more advanced groups. You can find all the different RailsBridge curricula here: http://docs.railsbridge.org/.

Please bring your laptop and power supply to the workshop.

We'll have food Friday night during the Installfest, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Vegetarian options will be available.

When I click on the BridgeTroll link, it takes me to the site with the following title: "Ruby on Rails Outreach Workshop for Women". So, is this meetup only for women?

Railsbridge's primary goal is to make programming accessible and inviting to women. But men are welcome too. I think the ratio is generally 70% women / 30% men.

Nikki, sounds like you want to attend as a student. Unfortunately the event is full right now. (there is another meetup posting for students)

I can help students get a working RoR environment, as I've done virtually with this popular tutorial:
