It was very cool to see everyone come together for a common good. All of the women who attended the event seemed very excited about learning Rails. I was very moved by the amount of good spirit and altruism.

Amy is Awesome! She was cool, calm, collected and has a great personality :)

Due to a little confusion with the registration process, I signed up as a volunteer, but participated as a regular attendee. That said, this was exactly the introductory immersion I was hoping for. Participants were assigned groups according to their level of experience and I joined the newbies. My instructor Brian did an incredible job of describing the RoR technical terminology, with lots of vivid analogies that related to real-world activities. I'm still a newbie, but I'll keep coming back for more! Thanks so much!

I'm downloading the XCode installers right now for Tiger, Leopard, and Snow Leopard. Can't hurt to have them handy next Friday.

I'm still constrained by the # of classrooms with whiteboards & projectors, and the number of teachers -- I have a lot of non-technical volunteers, and a good number of TAs, but not a ton of teachers. I'm waiting to hear back from my contact at Twitter to see if we can wrangle some large monitors).

I'm very new to Ruby. I'm hoping to be able to help other newbies get Ruby installed and running, maybe show people around irb a little. Beyond that, I'm not of much use. If there are people with more experience trying to get in to help teach, let me know and I'll sign up again when I have more experience :)

I agree; I think there's enough space and enough volunteers to open it up for more people.

It looks like we have 48 volunteers but only 40 confirmed for the event. If these numbers are real, we could have a lot more people attend the event.

Client work is trumping this weekend, waitlist->next.

Waitlist added :) The volunteer response has been huge (thanks everyone!), so I'm trying to see if we can set up a few more classes at Twitter to accommodate more students. I don't want the volunteers to have too few students to help!

Is there a waitlist for volunteers? The RSVP is off now.
