Railsbridge Workshop for Queer Women

  • Jun 13, 2014 · 7:00 PM

Students & Volunteers Sign-Up here:

**Student registration for *all* women will open June 11.
**Volunteers, you neither have to be queer nor a woman! We just need you to love code and understand that diversity springs up the wells of innovation and serendipity.

In this workshop, we'll take you through building a complete web application using Ruby on Rails. By the end of the workshop, you'll have an application on the internet that connects to a database and reads and writes information. We'll meet up on Friday to install all of the software you need, and then spend Saturday learning and writing code.

Total programming novices, system administrators, developers in other languages, and folks who attended our previous workshops are all welcome. We'll have different classes separated by experience level.

In honor of Pride month, and inspired by the recent Lesbians Who Tech Summit, Railsbridge is hosting a workshop for the queer/LGBTQA women's community, organized by a queer woman and taught by (hopefully, mostly) queer teachers. ---------
