Will use JumpStarter Code template for RoR fundraising site.
Emails for the RoR fundraising site will be generated from https://mandrill.com/signup/ using the DEVISE gem.
I will address topics specific to women in tech. Then attendees will brainstorm app name, team or website name (com.teamname.appname), theme to clone Graditute (think Candy Crush), use Photoshop to update app icon, launch image, 24 sprites, background image, shuffle button, game over button, play again/next level button, and find free .mp3 music files that can be looped. Each member will be asked to practice presenting a game concept.
To clone the game Graditude, you will use a text editor to customize two (2) global variables and then generate a standard game template. You will copy and paste the source code provided into your new project. You also add the necessary folders and files to build your first iOS mobile app made in SWIFT.
After testing the game, I will discuss publishing to App store and how to raise funds using the JumpStarter Code, a Ruby on Rails site affiliated with a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor.
This is a fast past workshop. And, please brings snacks to share.
