The workshop is intended to reach out to anyone who identifies as female and is interested in learning Ruby Programming for Beginners. The workshop is emphatically transgender-/queer-friendly. Men are welcome as the +1 of a female-identifying student.
You'll be introduced to object oriented programming, and will write custom applications in the Ruby programming language. No prior knowledge of programming is required. This is is not a Ruby on Rails, or website development, class. Note also that there is no intermediate or advanced track. It's a new curriculum. We hope to serve more levels next time!
The sponsors will provide pizza Friday night, and light breakfast and full lunch on Saturday. Vegetarian options will be available at all meals. We will try to accommodate special dietary requests submitted in your enrollment form by 1:00pm Monday 8/21.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
You must bring a laptop and power supply both days.
REGISTRATION
It's necessary to do ALL of the following by 1:00pm Monday 8/21 to complete registration:

This workshop was absolutely amazing. The quality of teachers and TA's was astounding - Jessie and Gabriel were so patient and engaging and I felt so lucky to be the recipient of such well crafted curriculum. I would recommend a Railsbridge workshop to ANYONE looking to learn more about Ruby. The Railsbridge community welcomes all levels of learners and is extremely friendly to newbies.

Amazing! This was such an incredible opportunity to be exposed to coding for the first time in a super-supportive environment. The teachers, organizers, TAs, and volunteers were so unbelievably cool, helpful, and patient with complete beginners (like me). I learned a ton, made some new friends, and feel super inspired to keep learning. Thank you RailsBridge!! I'll definitely be paying it forward into the future.

So excited for tomorrow! This might be a dumb question, but are there any costs associated with this workshop?
August 23
If you've a Mac, please download & install that X-Code tonight, if you haven't yet! it's a doozey of a download. Tomorrow's Installfest will also be assessment-time, so we can make sure we're all grouped accordingly. See you tomorrow ~

Quick reminder that this is a beginners class, and focuses on general purpose Ruby programming. You'll get a lot out of this workshop if:
* You have zero or little experience with programming in general
* You have zero or little experience with Ruby
* You want to learn fundamental concepts
* You want to build basic programs
There is no Rails, or website development, in this workshop. If you're interested in learning Rails, this class can be a really good prelude.

Hi,
I am 1st on the waiting list and keep getting emails that there is room, but when I try to sign up, it says there's no more room. Do people from the waitlist get promoted into available spaces, or do we keep missing out?

Is Xcode 3.2.6 acceptable? I'm (still) on Snow Leopard, and it looks like the [update](https://discussions.apple.com/th...
) is behind a pay wall.
