agenda and format? is this like a study group or ...show and flash and tell ?

  Somewhere in between. It's fairly casual, with some structure. Last time, we spent about 30 mins per chapter, starting each segment with a quick summary of what was covered, then it's up to whomever to start off the discussion. The discussion could cover questions, points of interest, etc.
