VOLUNTEERS: RailsBridge Workshop for Women ft. new intermediate Rails curriculum

We're looking for workshop volunteers! We always need teachers and TAs.

We also have many other (non-technical) roles available, including check-in, keeping track of glitches in the documentation, taking pictures, posting throughout to the day to social networks, setting up rooms/equipment, etc. Lillie's organizing this shindig by herself, so she'll definitely be corralling a few folks to help with those things.

Watch out for an email to wherever your Meetup.com emails go from Lillie with a survey so she can figure out who will be there for what and what y'all's teaching preferences are.

Super big thanks to our sponsor and host:

Transportation: If you're biking, there are meters outside the building, and if you already have a BikeLink membership, secure parking in Embarcadero Bart. Tragically, the building doesn't allow bikes in the offices, which limits secure bike options. If you're taking Bart, Embarcadero is the closest stop. If you're driving, there are several parking garages in the area as well as metered street parking.

We've got a new intermediate curriculum. It's harder. Check it out here: http://intermediaterailsbridge.herokuapp.com/intermediate_rails/. We'll also be teaching the regular Suggestotron curriculum to anyone who wants it.

Please bring your laptop and power supply to the workshop.

We'll have pizza Friday night during the Installfest, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Vegetarian options will be available.

Saturday's schedule approximated:

10am: Break into small groups

12:30pm: Lunch

1:30pm: Back to small groups

4:30pm: Closing presentation

5pm: After party at nearby bar

Worked well given a healthy TA:student ratio.

I think it's at the correct level and that it's open ended enough that a person could continue to add features on their own. The only change I would recommend would be moving the twitter/bootstrap and menu bar to the end.

RSVP cutoff has already occurred, does this venue need the cords please? I can bring them for both days if needed.

Hi Joe! We're all set for power, but if you could bring the thumb drives (if you have them), that would be great! I can add you on to the Volunteer list.

Hey everybody. I'm turning in the security list tomorrow. If didn't fill out the survey but your first and list name are on your Meetup profile, I've added you to the list. If neither of those things are true, if you could email/message me with your full name, that would be super awesome helpful.

One more time, the survey is here: http://bit.ly/Rbvolsurvey. I'll check it one last time for stragglers before turning in the list.

Just sent the volunteer survey by email. It's here: http://bit.ly/Rbvolsurvey

Also, I need to give everyone's names to security, so the survey is super duper required this time around.

Lillie, is there a google doc for registration or are you leaving it off for this one?
