Weekly gathering to learn Rails using Michael Hartl's Rails tutorial (http://ruby.railstutorial.org/) and pair programming
This week:
Chapter 1 - Rails set-up and sample app tutorial generation (for RailsBridge alumni, contents are similar to Installfest + suggestotron Rails module).
Note:
Big picture is to learn Rails using Michael Hartl's Rails tutorial, one chapter per week. We'll pair as much as possible. Please bring your own laptops.
Intended to be fun, inviting, group-learning for Ruby on Rails beginners. All levels welcome, but best suited to beginners and intermediates looking to teach or review concepts. We will try to learn by pair program. Pair programming is a very effective way of learning/teaching and retaining information.
If you'd like help with Rails/Ruby to set-up on your computer, feel free to stop by.
(Basic Ruby knowledge is highly encouraged. Please reach out if you'd like some help.)
Other questions, please feel free to email me!

Rails is a Ruby framework, so it helps to be familiar with Ruby syntax.
