San Francisco Yorkshire Terrier Meetup & the Union Street Easter Parade

Get your bonnets ready YORKIES for our annual Union Street Easter Parade!!!

It has been a group tradition being a participant in the San Francisco's 22nd Annual Union Street Parade & Spring Celebration!  The event will take place on Sunday, March 31, 2013 in Cow Hollow, San Francisco. The actual parade will begin at 2:00pm, but we will be meeting at 1:00pm at our regular Meetup location ~ Allyne Park ~ located on the corner of Gough and Green Street, which is also the starting point of the parade. Wear your Easter best, dress your yorkies as bunnies, or come in your bonnets for another FUN time with the San Francisco Yorkie Pack!

The event is not your average Street Fair or formal Parade. It can best be described as wonderful, wacky, elegant and fabulous, with everything from roller-blading cows and creative self-propelled mini-floats to garden areas, sophisticated fashions and beautiful classic and art cars. It's a special event for the entire family. The 22nd annual event celebrates and showcases the diverse community of San Francisco and features some of Union Street's best restaurants serving attendees in an outdoor bistro setting. A variety of children's and family activities are the focus of the event and include; large inflatable bounces, kids' rides and games, a climbing wall, a hands-on children's activities area, costumed characters, a petting zoo, a pony ride and entertainment from some of the Bay Area's best musicians. For the past 22 years the event has been known as the Biggest Little Parade in San Francisco. Over the years the parade has grown and all the participants reflect the unique community of the Bay Area, including the San Francisco Yorkshire Terrier Group. The parade is five blocks long and packed with fun! The parade will begin at 2:00pm at Union & Gough with the route running running down the center of Union Street and ending at Fillmore Street. Please RSVP so we can get an accurate yorkie head count for who is marching in the Union Street Easter Parade!

Yorkies Forever Unite!

Rain Policy: The parade organizers will have the parade rain or shine, but the Meetup will be canceled in the event of rain. We keep our paws crossed for NO rain on Easter!

We were lucky that it stopped raining for the parade, but it poured before and after. You never know with mother nature, but the kids on the parade loved seeing the yorkies!
