For those considering obedience school...

For what it's worth, those who may consider obedience school for their little Yorkies, you may want to look into some of the local "socials" as an alternative. We recently paid $200 for 6 obedience classes with "Sirius" in the east bay. They are totally qualified and the trainer was really cool. However, I think that these companies fail to note that our puppies are REALLY tiny. Jackson doesn't weigh 3lbs and the other puppies his age that were enrolled in the class were 15, 20, 25+ lbs and incredibly hyper!

Jackson got trampled on his first day by dogs thinking that he was ready to "play with the big dogs" and was terrified of going ever since.

We found a "small puppy social" at the Village Dog in Albany that is really nice. All the pups are smaller breeds and the owner of the shop, Sam, does some training with them too! He's getting the same encouragement in a better environment; one that's more conducive to him coming out of his shell.

Not to mention, Sirius is more that three times the cost!

I'm just saying that these obedience schools, while they market themselves to aid "puppies" and suggest that puppies start classes before they are 16 weeks to get the full benefit, it REALLY isn't so much geared for our teacups and toy breeds. Research your options!

Can you post more information about the Village Dog activity? Madison and I would like to attend. We live in San Francisco.
