Dear members,

This month we have our member Ohad Levy to share with us on Puppet (http://reductivelabs.....

Puppet is an Open source project for automating system administration tasks.
Written in Ruby, but Ruby knowledge not required for use. Most extensive support for Linux, Solaris, OS X, and BSD; lesser support for AIX, HP-UX, and other Unixes.

Puppet handles everything in "configuration management": distributing the right configuration files; starting, stopping, reloading, enabling, and disabling services; managing local users; managing packaged software; managing cron jobs; etc. Allows you to rebuild a servers, and control which kind of configuration is defined in them (and of course change it...)
