Re: [linux-5] Fwd: a linux distro for my eee pc 901..

A note from Ubuntu.com on netbook version on

Asus Eee 901

Everything works well apart from the wireless on/off button which often breaks the adapter, bluetooth toggling which does not work at all and a problem with wireless connect.

Known issues:

  • 339891 - wireless rt2860 not connecting to some WPA (Enterprise does not work out-of-box). Working patch is issued at link.

In Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook: everything working perfect (camera, audio, Wifi, Wifi to WPA2, Bluetooth, etc.) but out of the box not the hibernate. External monitor works perfectly (Fn-F5).

hi brandon,

im from seattle and am currently living in kuching. i will be in singapore between oct 29 and nov 5. i want to attend a linux meetup but i see yours is on the day before i arrive so i will miss it. during my week in singapore i really want to install a linux distro that will work well on my asus eee pc 901. i have ubuntu 10.01 installed now but it doesnt run too well as my hdd is only 4gb. most important, it wont suspend or hibernate. do you know of any other meetup i could join between oct 29 and nov 5? if not maybe there is someone you know or you yourself who would be willing to help me. i could meet the person wherever convenient for them during a lunch break or on the weekend. Thanks for your advice!

Pete Hillman
