Dear friend,

I have windows Vista and Ubuntu installed in partitions of the same laptop (Is your reference to notebook same as laptop?).
I access internet from Linux and many times I have downloaded files into the windows partition without issues.
I have not encountered any issues so far, while accessing the files, when booted in windows.

Let me know if that helps or further clarifications are required.
