Hi, Any one can help me? I have just install Fedora 2, and I need to make my Canon USB LBP-1210 work. Can pls advice me how I can make it work? Thank Your.
By the way I have follow the help for the Fedora it do not work. Do I need some thing like 'Driver' and how I can sure that USB are work OK?

Your instructions are a bit brief.... but...

Normally Redhat detects printers without trouble shooting. If you want to trouble shoot check:

1. check to see that the printer is visable on the USB:
eg. (no printer visable, only some other stuf)
# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 007: ID 054c:002e Sony Corp. Sony HandyCam MemoryStick Reader
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0451:1446 Texas Instruments, Inc. TUSB2040/2070 Hub
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 058f:9254 Alcor Micro Corp. Hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

or install and use the graphical tool "usbview" to see is USB detects it. (Cannot post a screen shot, sorry)

2. if found, then next run "# kuzdu" to see if Redhat detects it and configures it.

3. Otherwise you may be able to manually add it, sonext run system-config-printer-gui (avaliable from the RedHat=>System Tools=>Printer Manager on the tool bar)
USB devices get device name like these:
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 188, 0 Feb 24 2004 /dev/ttyUSB0
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 188, 1 Feb 24 2004 /dev/ttyUSB1
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 188, 2 Feb 24 2004 /dev/ttyUSB2

crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 188, 4 Feb 24 2004 /dev/ttyUSB4
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 188, 5 Feb 24 2004 /dev/ttyUSB5
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 188, 6 Feb 24 2004 /dev/ttyUSB6
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 188, 7 Feb 24 2004 /dev/ttyUSB7
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 188, 8 Feb 24 2004 /dev/ttyUSB8
crw-rw---- 1 root uucp 188, 9 Feb 24 2004 /dev/ttyUSB9
(btw: having a name does not mean it physically works)

Note: Some printers, eg lexmark have special daemon software that monitors th ink level. These can cause problems.
