TRIVIA NITE AT JIMMY THE GREEK'S behind Maine Mall

Jimmy's gets a large turnout (15-20 teams) vying for prizes (and/or bragging rights)--good music, good food, good company.  Let's put the flotsam and jestam and lagan floating around in our brains together and learn a lot of useless stuff.

We had enough for two teams-Scarborough Gamers (Glenn, Sue, Rob and me) and Scarborough Remainders (Leslee, Shel, Mike and Catherine). My team was doing well, but on the last question (what are the frequencies of FM radio) since we assumed we had to be exactly right, we wagered conservatively. As it turned out, we were exactly right (88 to 180) but to our dismay, the emcee announced that any responses within a range of a few points would also be counted right. Had we known that, we would have wagered more aggressively. On a positive note, the Scarborough Remainders came in first and collectively won a $30 gift card to Jimmy's.

Shel....the meetup I was telling you about is called Maine Social Meetup Group. Mandy is the organizer and 20 have already registered for March 18 (Tuesday) at 7:30. However, not everyone will show and Jimmy's is a public restaurant so I suggest you get on the wait list and go anyway. As requested, I have scheduled a Tuesday trivia nite for those interested.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
