Sunday Afternoon & Evening Gaming @ The Complex

  • Jul 6, 2014 · 1:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

We're usually gaming most of the afternoon and some of the evening, post a note in the comments section regarding when you plan to be there and we'll try to coordinate things.
Directions (GPS): Use "1 Queens Drive".  The Complex is just before that street.
Directions (from North/Northeast): go South on Route 1, past the marsh, through the 3 lights after the marsh (past Rite Aid and the gas station / Dunkin Donuts).  A little less than 1/2mile later, you'll go past a blinking yellow light, a little bit later you'll see Chaba Thai on the left, The Complex is on the right shortly after that (look for the yellow sign after the stereo place), same lot as the Shaker furniture place.
Directions from South/West: go North on Route 1, past Funtown/Splashtown, through OOB until the speed limit drops down from 45 to 35 and you go down a dip in the road.  The Complex will be on your left a little after you come out of the dip, same lot as the Shaker furniture place.

I'll be bringing two 2-player games (Battle Line, Lost Cities) and a bunch of 2 - 4 player games (Can't Stop, Take It Easy, Show Manager, Acquire, Cartagena, Through the Desert, and Glory to Rome). Most of these are on my 10 x 10 list on Board Game Geek, so I need some plays of them. And most are light games. If you want me to bring some longer, more intricate games, please look at my Board Game Geek collection and request what you'd like. My screen name is EllenCaroline.

    I'll be arriving at 1pm.

Hi Kathleen! Like Jason said we are typically there all day, starting around 1 and play till 10ish. The group changes as the day goes, we typically have 4-6 there at any given time, some signed up some not. Bring your favorite games, we are always willing to learn something new. We have a lot of games as a group so any new is always fun. The size of groups all depend on what people want to play and how many are there so games from 2 player to 20 (well as many as we have people) all work. Hope to see you there!

Okay, Megan, I'm reassured. Between your comment and Jason's, I suppose there will be enough people to have a good games day.

Megan, my "Yes" is tentative. Google maps says it's a 1 1/4 hour drive for me (each way). That's not bad if we're going to be playing all afternoon and all evening. But if there are just the two of us, the gaming might not last that long. I want to wait and see if more people say "Yes." I hope you don't mind.

I do have lots of 2-player games, but I don't know anyone in the group yet, so I don't know what kinds of games you like. If our gaming tastes aren't compatible we might just be sitting there trying to make conversation and then giving up and going home. If you want to see the games I rate highly, my screen name on Board Game Geek is EllenCaroline. You can look at my collection . . . and tell me which games to bring with me if I come.

I tend to be blunt. None of what I've written is meant in anything but a friendly way. I'm looking forward to meeting some of the Scarborough gamers.

Hey Kathleen, The Complex has it's own regulars who are not part of our group. There are usually at least 2 or 3 gamers not part of our group there on Sundays.

We usually have people there until 9 or 10pm. Some, like me, show up later in the afternoon. I'll be in at my usual ~5pm
