Hello fellow gwong dung yun!
I'd like to have an outing with a bit of exercise, rather than a sit down in a restaurant. Singapore has a limited amount of nature for hiking and I want to have an outing to chat with some Cantonese speakers, get some exercise, and get away from concrete and built up areas for a little while.
I'm not the most experienced or knowledgable person regarding this, but I've been to Macritchie Reservoir Park and Bukit Timah a handful of times.
So for this outing (perhaps the first of several?), I want to do the following:
On a Sunday: (for all of August I am busy all day Saturday working, seminars so I'm only free Sundays)
2.45pm : Meet at front of Macritchie where the cafe, toilets and change areas are
Facing the reservoir, walk right and keep going! Most of the path is level, with slight ups and downs. Parents bring their young children all the time. It's really not hard at all, and you can see monkeys, butteflies, the occasional lizard and colourful snake!
The Tree Top Walk is about 4.5 km in and is free, but closes at 5pm.
We can then walk back the way we came, or, if you don't mind, can continue on and complete the whole 11km circuit of Macritchie Reservoir. Continuing on, there will be about 15 minutes where there is no cover from the sun (along golf course), but you can later walk along a timber walkway which is right along the edge of the reservoir, and is peaceful, lovely and a relaxing way to finish off the walk.
Total time- approximately 3 (quick pace) to 4 (slow pace, lots of socialising) hours.
Afterwards, we can take a bus and have dinner at a nearby food court or eatery. Eg, it's near Butkit Timah, which has several restaurants.
Things to bring:
- change of clothes- t shirt/top.
- adequate drink eg 1.5L
- perhaps a hat and sunblock.
- smile and sense of humour
- Siu die di ar! ^_^
Nearest MRT are Caldecott and Marymount:

Please Rsvp and I'll set a date in August. There needs to be at least 2 other RSVP's before it becomes an event.
