Lasertag & Paintball wargaming activity

Hello everyone in Cantonese Meetup!

Leon here, just joined this meetup a few months back. Since the last meetup on 12 Feb this year, Edwin has been asking for your opinions on what kind of more unique or exciting activities that you guys might be interested in. Well I hope to introduce you to Lasertag and Paintball wargaming. These activities are usually held on weekends. Lasertag is held in Singapore and Paintball in Johor Bahru.

1) Lasertag:
Lasertag is like a game of paintball but except for the pain and aches you'd feel after an afternoon of intensive play and perhaps a bruised ego, Lasertag is painless.

Lasertag uses infrared technology (similar to those found in TV remotes) in its guns to shoot opponents and register hits. By using everyday technology and weapons that do not shoot projectiles, Lasertag is a safe activity for all ages and can be held in almost any location. Lasertag is mobile that means we can be where you need us to be.

Lasertag is an objective-driven team game and can be easily customized to suit both casual and hardcore players. It is an excellent team building tool. Scenario objectives emphasize strategy, tactics, leadership, teamwork, creativity, and communication skills making it an ideal activity to build and develop relationships.

- No age limit. Anyone who can use the gear can play.

- Limited physical contact. With anything. No balls whizzing through the air, no painful hits in the chest. This is a true non-contact sport.

- No protective gear required. Sure, you can choose to outfit yourself with military gear if you want to dress up - if you are into Hardcore gaming. Otherwise, any type of sensible clothing will do.

- Greater range than paintball and airsoft, hits from more than 150m have been recorded.

- This is probably the greatest advantage of infrared tag over paintball - Zero Residual Presence (ZRP). Done properly, one can host a 100-person game of infrared tag in a professional office building all night long and, at the end of the game, walk away without a single shred of evidence that anyone has been there. No paint marks on the walls, no expended air canisters, no unexploded paintballs rolling around the floor. ZRP makes infrared tag one of the cleanest sports going! Wargh! can be played Anywhere, with Anyone, at Anytime, without having to worry about leaving a mess.

Cost: $30 per head for 2 hours. Additional hours at $15 per hour.

Venues: Macritchie Reservoir Park, Kent Ridge Park, Chestnut Drive Park, Pasir Ris Park etc. The venue can be selected based on preference, or if you wish to hold it in your office, factory or residence (if it's really huge), it can be done.

2) Paintball
This is scenario paintball and totally different from the usual paintball games you have played in Singapore. Unlike paintball sites in Singapore, there is no middle line dividing each half of the battlefield thus allowing for flanking maneuvers and ambushes along the trails. This will be the closest you will ever come to a real battlefield.

There are 2 paintball sites in Johor Bahru that I know of at this moment - one called "Bukit Ramly" (private land, with hills and wooded areas), the other an indoors site at Danga Mall.

Cost:

a) Scout Kit - $40
1. a paintball marker (gun)
2. paintball mask, protective vest (for ladies only).
3. 100 paintballs

b) Rifleman Kit - $60
1. a paintball marker (gun)
2. paintball mask, protective vest (for ladies only).
3. 300 paintballs

Fire Support Kit - $80
1. a paintball marker (gun)
2. paintball mask, protective vest (for ladies only).
3. 500 paintballs

Add-ons

*2 way transfer - $30 (based on a 12 seater van)
*Extra Paintballs -$50 per bag of 500 paintballs

Group rates are applicable. (*4 or more and taking the support pack)

Players who prefer to self-drive are welcome.

Lasertag can be held every weekend, and Paintball is usually organised at least once a month. For Lasertag, I can book a game for a minimum of 10 pax. For Paintball, I need at least 12 pax. If response is good I'll organise something for March.

Ok let me know how keen you are. Feel free to email me at [address removed] or call me at[masked] if you've questions.

Cheers,
Leon
