What we’re about
Way back when in 2007 I came to the South West and noticed a lack of a website for Roleplayers to set up games and generally meet up with like minded folk. So I set up this meetup group. Its been a while and over 700 members later its been a bit of a success..
The ideas and reasons for this meetup are still the same, to meet like minded people who share the same hobby, to set up and run or play in games locally (and further as we have groups in Chippenham, the deepest darkest parts of the South West and even over in Wales) and when all else fails to just get together and have a drink or two and share those moments in games that are special to us.
Hopefully this site will be the one for you, get on the message boards and ask to join games, set up new games or just come to a pub meetup to chat and meet the rest of us.

Hi Roleplayers in Bath and Bristol, this is a fortnightly group in Bristol that meets primarily to play boardgames. We are open to people running a RPG at the evening, but it would be one shots as that's the nature if the night, to meet, play a new game, make friends etc. Most of the people who come for board games are roleplayers too so it's a good way to meet people and find a group or new players for your RPG.
So join us as we gather to play board games and card games at the Geek Retreat, by the Hippodrome in Bristol, UK.
We organise a number of games for each event with a variety of styles (Euro, 4X, cards, Social deduction, heavy, light etc). Each gaming table will have someone hosting who knows the rules and is ready to teach all the players. If you want to run one of your own games, we'd love you to sign up as a game host!
We begin to gather and chat from 7pm and plan to get the games started between 7:30-7:45pm. You are welcome to arrive at any time before this and hang out in the cafe. We don't reserve player spaces so arrive on time if you have a specific game you want to be involved in. The games should wrap by about 10:30pm as we need to be out by 11pm.
