Yes, I'll be there tomorrow, Saturday 14th. Just watched Ian McCellan - they played fast and loose with the text but it was very enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

I saw the current production of Macbeth at Lincoln Center last night. Ethan Hawke was extraordinary. His was a very unusual interpretation to which he was 100% committed. I loved him. The witches were the best I've ever seen. And, the overall production design, music etc. was really fine. Layers of meaning that for me have not been fully realized in other productions ( the occult elements ) were finely explored through the visuals and acting styles of Hecate, and the witches in particular. Hawke completely gave himself over to Macbeth's tortured mind. Not so fond of Anne Marie Duff as Lady Macbeth. over all it was an uneven performance, shallow inner life, little nuance.
