Oct 28 - Nov. 6th see filmed live performances of Othello, Macbeth, Hamlet

"National Theater Live" HD films of live performances from National Theater in London, shown at the Uptown Cinema on Queen Anne, see

for details. $20 each, or $15 with a SIFF membership ($55/year). Including Macbeth (starring Kenneth Branagh), Othello (Adrian Lester and Rory Kinnear) and Hamlet (Rory Kinnear).

If you're interested and want to go with others, comment with a suggested play, time and date. Arrange for your own tickets. This e-mail is being sent early so people have time to plan and in case tickets sell out.  Since several people have already gotten tickets for Macbeth on Nov. 2 at 5, I'm using that as the "date" for posting purposes, but there are various options - see the link or postings below.

Also in the series - Frankenstein directed by Danny Boyle, and a play about Benjamin Britten and W.H. Auden called In the Habit of Art.

I'm allergic to Kenneth Braindead, so no Scottish play for me. I propose the Tues., 10/29, 6.30 Hamlet and the Thurs., 10/31, 6.00 Frankenstein.

Hi Honeys, I think since Brian and Paul already have tickets for Saturday Nov 2 at 5pm for Macbeth, I will try to get a ticket for that one too. As for the others I could be convinced to go maybe, but I've just seen them too much. Interesting that they are showing Frankenstein. I am taking an OSHER (UW Lifelong Learning Center) class in October with Dr. Richard Dunn, the former head of the English Dept., who is teaching Frankenstein in the first edition by Mary Wolstonecraft Shelley before her more famous husband, Percy, edited it (and ruined it?). There's still room if anyone is interested. Let me know.

Hi All, As for me Macbeth is the one I particulary want to see. I just looked at the SIFF website and it says Macbeth plays from Wed. Oct. 30 - Wed Nov 6 - not Oct 28th as it says above. Maybe if we went on a weekday it wouldn't be so crowded. But I guess some people work. I couldn't find the times for the movies but I'll keep looking.

So count me in for a ticket for Macbeth and let me know what date you decide on. Right now all those dates would be okay.

    Cheers, Roberta

Here are times for the NT productions. They're all over the map, so I suggest that we agree on a date/time (if possible), and se whatever's showing then.

I see Kenneth Braindead is playing MacBeth.....So I will be staying as far away from that one as possible.
