Hear "Such Sweet Thunder: The Duke Meets the Bard" 2/15 or 2/16/14

Update: 2/15 sold out.  A collaboration between Seattle Shakespeare Company and Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra. To quote the SRJO website,

"A lover of Shakespeare, Duke Ellington composed the Such Sweet Thunder Suite as his tribute to the Bard. SRJO teams up with the Seattle Shakespeare Company to present this special suite of works. Each movement— including Lady Mac, Sonnet for Sister Kate, and The Star-Crossed Lovers—evokes favorite Shakespearean characters or quotes. Guest thespians present selections from the plays and sonnets that inspired Ellington to create the musical work. Rounding out this concert will be SRJO trumpeter Jay Thomas featured on Benny Carter’s lovely Summer Serenade."

Thank-you for sharing this review! All along I knew that the birthday girl would want to spend the day with MJ rather than the Duke and the Bard! Sorry that we missed this, but glad they had a full house and that you two had a wonderful time!
