Weaving the Web: Star Lore and Spinning

  • Jul 20, 2014 · 10:00 AM
  • A private location

Many of our sky-myths involve the practice of spinning, as one goddess or another spins our world into existence.  This imagery has been literally spinning over our heads since before we were born.

We’ll start the day with a PowerPoint look at the night sky’s main spinning-theme constellations and a discussion of their myths, and how we can use their powerful truths.

Then, in the afternoon, we’ll learn the basics of hand-spinning with a drop spindle.  You won’t create enough yarn here to knit a sweater, but you WILL learn how to use journeying and spell-craft to infuse your spun fibers with intention and power.

Knowledge of shamanic journeying is recommended but not required.
This workshop comes out of research that lead to my book A Magical Tour of the Night Sky, and is likely to also be deepened with my recent Swedish völva-and-distaff studies.

Fee: $75 includes all materials and a drop-spindle to keep.  Those who register and pay before June 1 will be getting a special limited-edition copy of my Rune-Reader book, a small, user-friendly intro to using the runes, now in a unique binding - it's my Thank-You gift to you.

Renna's approach is well researched and melds the esoteric with the pragmatic.
