The Shambhala Meditation group of Hamilton is committed to bringing the simple practice of meditation to people. We are part of Shambhala International - a world wide community of over 200 meditation centres and groups. We provide meditation instruction, classes, programs and opportunities to practice meditation.

The Way of Shambhala is the core path of study offered by our group. It is open to people from all religious backgrounds or no religious background, and requires no commitment to Buddhism. The understanding and practices that we teach within Shambhala are human wisdom, and reflect something basic about the human situation, beyond specific cultures, nationalities or religions.
Students are introduced to the teachings in the context of an ongoing meditation practice. The courses and programs we offer are designed to stabilize and strengthen our meditation, and clarify our understanding of the teachings. Course activities such as group discussion, and contemplative exercises allow us to connect to the teachings at an experiential level, and find ways to integrate the path of meditation, wisdom and compassion into our daily lives. We encourage everyone to examine and question the teachings to determine how they are personally relevant.
