I was thinking that it's been a while since we last did an event at Fairchild Tropical Gardens - lucky for us, they have free admission on Sundays in August!

Last time I was there, I (unsuccessfully) chased around butterflies, did some macro work with orchids in the greenhouse, and in general sweated a lot. It'll probably be hot, so bring a hat (or sweatband), water, insect repellent, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes!

If you want to meet up with me in the morning, I'll be just outside of the gift shop from 10AM-10:15AM, sitting on one of those benches - at 10:15AM, we'll head into the gardens!

Just as a warning to new members, this is one of those meetups where everyone disperses rather quickly and finds their own way through the garden at their own pace. So while not the best first meetup to socialize with the group, we'll be meeting up again at 12:30PM at the cafe inside of the garden (aptly named the Garden Cafe), to have a drink or get a sandwich for lunch.
