34th Annual Florida Photographers & Camera Collectors Show

This is one of the largest camera shows in America. You can buy, sell or trade any camera equipment and there is a free camera and shutter check on-site. For those of you that are looking to upgrade your kit, this is probably as good a place as any to do it. I don't know about you, but I have a number of lenses that I would like to trade as I simply have outgrown them (I need faster lenses). There will be new and used equipment available so figure out what you need, do your research on the Internet, and then come prepared to negotiate. The admission charge is $7.25 but I am in the process of trying to get Shoot Miami members a free pass. I will be at the main entrance to the show at 10:30. The show also runs Sunday from 10-3 if you can't make it Saturday.

a bunch of hustlers. I bought a lens and had to return it that same day. The vendor would not take it back until I finally proved to him that it really was no good, then he said "okay pick another lens". I only wanted my money back and after some back and forth I finally got my money back.

Small venue for the people I saw there. Not much room to move about.
Great if you are into older models and exchanging gear.
Not a place to look for the latest and greatest.

Would have enjoyed more if they would have had more digital products and a little more room to walk aroud. A little crouded....

Aside from meeting Zizi and a couple of others from the group, and getting my camera senor cleaned, I was was disappointed. Equipment being sold by vendors were far too costly, and trading was based on the vendor giving you 40-50% of the market value. I fully understand they need to make money, but car sales people give a better trade in value. Example, I offered to trade a leica M3 with Summit 50/1.5, two Voit a 28/1.9 and 40/1.4, a leica 90/4.0, a Mamiya 645 PRO with metered head and two lens and his offer was "I'll give you $900.00 for everything towards a used camera". All in all the people were great and I need to brush up on my trading skills.

I thought the venue was way too small for the amount of exhibitors and visitors. Also, I got there around noon and had no way of knowing who was from Shoot Miami to introduce myself.

Sold some, bought some. All in all it was a good day. I would have liked it better if it the venue was bigger and the used items were in better shape. I guess I can't complain too much since the meetup was almost in my backyard. Don't get that too often.

I'll be there, but not until after 12:00pm. I'd love to meet some of you. How will I know who's from Shoot Miami?
