7am Run on Sunday 18th - postponed from the 11th

Josephine Tinsley has postponed the run on Sunday 11th until Sunday 18th November:

Following on from the success last week, we've planned another Sunday run. For those that wish to join in, we're meeting at 7:00 on Sunday 11th morning (to set off at 7.15) in front of UOB Plaza II by the statue of the fat sparrow, refer: http://goo.gl/VLKzU near the water at Boat Quay... Can't be missed!

We plan to do a route along the lines of the map, refer: http://goo.gl/Rf9xg. Distance 5-7km lap around Marina Bay then West along river with coffee in Robertson Quay.

No better way to start a Sunday morning.

See you there!

Hey everyone, if anyone knows anyone who wants to do the Standard Chartered Half Marathon, my friend cannot partake and would like to give his place to someone who missed out on the chance to sign up.

Hi All! Just a reminder to meet at 7am tomorrow at the Fat Sparrow, leaving 7.15am sharp. Hopefully we can all stick to a similar pace, but if not, the route is West along the river, past Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, Robertson Quay, along to Tanglin Road, then right, up the hill to Napier Road, left onto Napier Road, over the foot bridge to Botanic Gardens (Gleneagles Hospital gate), a lap of the gardens then a coffee at the Nassim Gate Visitors Centre. The route is about 5.5 miles (8km) and there are two or three roads to cross so just take care when crossing. See you tomorrow!

I just checked! Unfortunately registration has now closed as they have reached 10,000 runners. We will run out West along the river Sunday to avoid the chaos :)

As long as you do not get on to the Fullerton Bridge or anywhere close to MBS or gardens by the bay - it does not. Frankly most big runs are on a Sunday and hence planning a Sunday morning run in those parts is not such a great idea. There is a run calendar available on Sgrunners.com - should help planning

Hope the run route does not 'crash' with the RunForHope run..

This thread is getting rather confusing about morning run - is it tomorrow morning (@Laura?) or is it on Sunday (@Josephine) or is it both?
Laura - tom morning for about a hour / 7-8 km sounds good ...you still on with that ?

Hey everyone, would it suit anyone to meet tomorrow morning at 8am at UOB Plaza II by the statue of the fat sparrow for a 5-7km lap around Marina Bay then West along the river?
@Warren, I will not make MacRitchie but hope to see you again soon!

I think it will be easier to skip the run this for week and organise instead for next Sunday morning at the same time (18th November). I'll ask Rob to change the date of this run. Sorry about that!

    Dear All,
Something important has come up Sunday and I won't be able to make the run anymore. I was wondering if we change it to the same time tomorrow morning (Saturday) people can still make it? Alternatively, if Saturday doesn't work for people, could someone else offer to be chief navigator in my place? The route is easy - West along the river from the fat sparrow, past Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, Robertson Quay, following the river as much as possible, up to Tanglin Road, then north up Tanglin Road, left onto Napier Road, to Botanic Gardens with a lap around botanic gardens then a coffee in the visitor centre. The route is roughly 5.3 miles. Could people who have RSVPed let me know if they can still make it if we change to tomorrow? Thanks!

Hi. FYI.....The Great Eastern Run is around Marina on Sunday morning - there will be thousands of people and plenty of road closures.

Hi All, so here is the revised plan. We meet at the same place (fat sparrow outside UOB building on the river near Raffles Place) then we head west along the river, past Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, Robertson Quay, following the river to the extent possible, until we reach Tanglin Road, then we head north up Tanglin Road, then left along Napier Road, then we can do a lap of Botanic Gardens to cool down, followed by coffee at the visitor centre.
Let me know if you have any comments.

    Hi Sunday runners,

As Gemma pointed out, the Great Eastern Run means Marina Bay will be chaos on Sunday morning. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to avoid the area completely and plan a river route, possibly up to Botanic Gardens and have coffee there. I'll have a think and post the route over the next couple of days so keep an eye on this page. Thanks!
