Learning your DSLR - workshop and scavenger hunt

Have you recently purchased a Digital SLR camera and still haven't figured out what all the buttons do? Maybe you've had your camera for a while but still haven't managed to get off the Automatic setting.

Join a walking workshop that explains which functions get the most out of your camera. Take the tour around your DSLR with Lynford Morton, lead instructor of PhotoTour DC.

In this walking workshop, we will discuss the principles of exposure, DSLR shooting modes, and metering. We will also weave in a scavenger hunt where you get to practice the photo techniques we learn and get feedback on your images.

    Hi Folks,
I have a canon D50 since 2 years. Still a lot I need to learn. I am goind on an African Safari on Dec 18. Looking for suggestion as to what lens I should have to be to get good quality wildlife photos. Any other tips also most welcome. Once in a lifetime opportunity I guess!!

Good advice, Emily. If I were going on a once in a lifetime African Safari, I'd rent at last a 200 mm that gets f/2.8. Good luck!
