Hello, my name is Jerry, I live in Northern Virginia. My profession and passion is creating 3D Simulations and image-based 3D Modeling.
Quite often I need to take photo references of various locales and objects in order to create a more realistic 3D environment. These photo references range from panoramic shots of skylines and distance horizons, to close up shots of miscellaneous things, in order to get a high resolution texture reference I look forward to meeting with all of you and sharing my experiences with yours. Thanks.
I have some basic photographic skills, but by no means am I a master. I had hoped that in this group I could learn collectively, with everyone else, about expert techniques. I noticed that you guys have gone to some really interesting locations. The sheer vastness of some of these locales looked like a potpourri of photographic possibilities. I’m looking to shoot just about everything. In my line of work you’ll never know when you need a beautiful landscape, or a high detailed texture of rust. Creating my own textures and shaders from self-generated photos allows me greater control, and attention to detail on the kinds of environments I’m creating.
Nikon D-100. However, I think my friend has a more recent version, which I may be able to borrow. I am a novice photographer. That is, I know how to adjust my ISO settings, meter my shots, and click. Ask me anything else, and I’m a deer in the headlights. Huh?
Not a photographic portfolio, but photo inspired. http://www.creativeheads.net/jsmedia.aspx?j=b4f0b7c59a&spi=0
