I saw Lyn's photo and got taken in by that 100-Megawatt smile! ;-) Ok, seriously, a big reason is that up to now, photography has been mostly been a solitary endeavor for me. That's fine, but I find that when I'm around other enthusiastic photograp
All sort of things. Mostly, I like to find interesting patterns, shapes and colors.
I was an enthusiastic amtateur from 1967 (age 17) until about 1980, using mostly 35mm SLRs, but also Leica rangefinders and some 2-1/4. I developed and printed my own B&W and also shot a lot of Kodachrome and Ektachrome slides. So in other words, I started in the ancient times and learned the basics of photography well. Got back into photography in 2002 and went totally digital. To my surprise an delight, it's more fun now than ever.
When I go out to shoot "on purpose," I use a Canon XSi (just replaced my 4-1/2 year old Digital Rebel D300.) Otherwise, I carry a Canon A620 digicam in my backpack to and from work every day.

Hello Steve I really miss you guys I hope to see you soon at the next meetup :-)
Thanks Steve, I'm already feeling welcomed
Thanks Steve!
I am freaked that I'm not coming. But it is my daughters birthday and I wasn't going to have a party for her. But her friends said they would do everything and pay for everything, they just need the house, hahaha. I'm not letting them have my house without me here. My daughter also believes she is going to NY that day also. She just loves the Museums, so it will be a big surprise.
I'm getting better at taking photos so maybe by fall I will be a pro. I just love NY Have fun without me
Hi Steve!!! I'm so excited for the next meetup. This will be the last one that I have to commute from Virginia for...I move to Bmore in April! I'm sort of making a list of things I might like to sing, but I think it'll be a game time decision. Lookin' forward to seeing what you've got planned!
Yeah...I have to work on Friday night....Sorry!![]()
Hi Steve! It was great to see you again! Hopefully we'll be able to attend many more meetups this year. The Shutterbugs are def a very nice group of people to hang out with.
Thanks Steve! I wish I could have made it but I lost my voice. Since I was working later Friday, I was downing tea and lemon like crazy just to get a little of it back. :( I'll definitely try to make the next one!
Hi Steve -
Good meeting you also, and thanks for the early crash course. Talk to you soon.

Steve, Thank you so much for organizing the central park trip. You really kept us going and showed me things I never knew about central park (the light post). I had to share that with everyone I knew and no one else knew about it. I look forward to many more meet ups.
