NYC Shut Up & Write Meetup! - Brooklyn

Join other writers for an hour of focused writing!

4:00 - Show up early, stake out a spot and either socialize or get a jump on writing.
4:30 - Start. Introductions, and we'll share what we're working on.
4:35 - Get down to business. An hour of silence and solid writing!
5:35- Brief follow up. People are encouraged to share experiences & ideas, network or take off as they like.

If you're spending too much time THINKING about writing, come and join us for a session of focused writing. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice.

WHERE: Table in the back.

SOME TIPS:

Remember to charge your laptop ahead of time.

Please buy something to support this organic cafe. It would make the owner smile.

Come on time! If you come late, we will have already started.
Bring headphones if you don't want outside noise distraction.

RSVP only if you can make it, and update as soon as possible if your plans change.

You will see progress in your writing project by spending the minimum of a single hour per week on it. This is your practice/focus time, so I hope to see you there.

Don't know where to begin, read this.

Drivable or accessible via subway. Twice now I ate an affordable lunch beforehand one block away; one from an pakistani place and another from an afghan restaurant. Milk and Honey has several tall standing tables at the rear which is ideal for me because I prefer to stand sometimes. The music is usually low key and the other patrons have a noticeably cool vibe. Drinks are excellent, albeit I wish they had a larger selection to offer. Some for the sweets- I fell for the chocolate cookie and brownie, but overall there are limited choices. Finally, I think 4pm avoids scheduling conflicts for both lunch and dinner

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
