NYC Shut Up & Write Meetup! - Brooklyn

Join other writers for an hour of focused writing!

4:00 - Show up early, stake out a spot and either socialize or get a jump on writing.
4:30 - Start. Introductions, and we'll share what we're working on.
4:35 - Get down to business. An hour of silence and solid writing!
5:35- Brief follow up. People are encouraged to share experiences & ideas, network or take off as they like.

If you're spending too much time THINKING about writing, come and join us for a session of focused writing. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice.

WHERE: Table in the back.

SOME TIPS:

Remember to charge your laptop ahead of time.

Please buy something to support this organic cafe. It would make the owner smile.

Come on time! If you come late, we will have already started.
Bring headphones if you don't want outside noise distraction.

RSVP only if you can make it, and update as soon as possible if your plans change.

You will see progress in your writing project by spending the minimum of a single hour per week on it. This is your practice/focus time, so I hope to see you there.

Don't know where to begin, read this.

Hi, I just started looking through this site. Is this meet-up a closed event or is it ok if a new person comes along?

    Hey Leon,

My name's Jennifer and I have a start-up that tests finished manuscripts (Fiction, YA/Middle Grade, Memoir) via online surveys with 10-12 targeted Test Readers. We soft launched a few months ago, and are offering to test Author's manuscripts for $100. Would your group be up for me coming for 10 minutes at the start of your meeting on July 18th at Milk & Honey to show a brief Prezi intro to who we are? If so, let me know. Always wanting to meet new Authors!

Here are two things to get to know BookHive. A blog entry explaining how BookHive got started and a video testimonial from one of our first Authors.

The links totally work! Also the Brooklyn meetup is a more casual environment. I would suggest you try the Columbus one.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
