Shut Up and Write! East Bay (Alameda) Marathon

With the change of seasons, it seems like it's time to change cafes as well, and we're moving things indoors for the cooler months.

High Street Station Cafe (corner of High Street and Encinal Avenue) is a comfortable little spot with good coffee and a menu packed with salads, sandwiches, baked goods, and (should the writing wheel need a little greasing) wine and beer. There are lots of tables and comfortable chairs, and a couple couches as well. There's free Wi-Fi (with purchase--patronizing whatever cafe we occupy is strongly encouraged!) and enough electrical outlets for the laptops.

We'll officially start at noon (come whenever you can) and break at 2:00 p.m. for a brief check-in, then officially wrap up at 4:00. You can stay on and keep writing if you're on a roll. The cafe is open until 7:00, but on Tuesdays they host a charity dinner at 5:30 so you'd need to clear out by then.

Come check out this new Shut Up & Write venue!

(This replaces the Shut Up & Write sessions that have been taking place on Tuesday afternoons at Julie's. The patio was getting too loud and cold!)

Nice low-key group. Appropriate level of interaction.

I will not be able to make it tomorrow, an appointment came up that I have to go to, I wanted to let you know but will try for the next one, is it every Tuesday? I wanted someone to have my spot just in case someone needed it. I look forward to coming

Yes, we're doing this every Tuesday. Hope you can make it another time. You can change your RSVP to No to open up your spot. Thanks!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
