Shut Up and Write! Mission Daytime

Hey Everybody,

The Daytime Mission Shut Up and Write! is a great place to get some writing done in the middle of the week.  I hope you'll join us.

Here's the details:

• We will set up in the back of the cafe. Look for the Meetup sign.

• Please check in with me when you arrive. Because we are in a public space with people who will not be there for the meetup, I won't necessarily know you're there for Shut Up & Write!

• There will be two focused 1.5 hour sessions of writing. No one will look at what you've written when the meetup is over.

Here's how it works:

9:00 - 9:15 - Brief introductions
9:15 - 10:45 - I'll set the timer and we'll write for an hour and a half.
10:45 - 11 - quick break for coffee, stretching of legs, congratulating each other on 90 minutes of good focus, etc.
11:00 - 12:30 - Heads down, keyboards clacking (or pen flying, if that's your MO)

People can continue to work, chat, or take off as they like.

PLEASE NOTE: The conversations of other patrons who are not there for the meetup are occasionally noisy. Consider bringing your iPod or similar device if you need to block out distraction! There are plenty of electrical outlets, so no worries about making sure your laptop battery is fully charged. AND: Parking can be challenging, so use public transit if possible or leave plenty of time to find a spot; there's more parking south on Valencia if you don't mind walking a few blocks.

I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday.

Thanks,

John

Very fun to find an entire cafe full of writers. I figured I might only last an hour or so, but the sight of everyone else plugging away kept me guilted into staying and writing the whole three hours. Success!

Sorry for cancelling tonight...not feeling 100%...bear with me! Anxious to get writing but apparently a bad week to get going. Look forward to seeing everyone next time out : )

budding writer (yay!) this is acknowledgment of that and building of confidence. Hard to write unless I'm put in a position to like when I went to school for my degree or wrote with a friend, etc. This is my way of making it happen for me.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
