Details

Come join us for a marathon of focused writing! You can come for the morning or the afternoon session, or both! Bring whatever you need to write - short story, novel, poem, memoir, thesis, blog or a manifesto! Bring a laptop, bring a pen, bring a notebook. We will do brief intro for those who arrive on time, and start at 9:45 am sharp to write. If you arrive after the intro time, just wave and find a seat at our table or nearby our table.

At 12:30 pm, we will take a half hour break(but feel free to keep going if you are in the zone, it is all about the writng here). chat, get lunch or go take a walk or head out if you need to(if you want do the social lunch, just let us know when you rsvp, or listen to the alarm on my phone telling us TIME FOR a break). We will start writing again at 1 pm sharp, and crank it through another 2 hours. at 3:30 pm, we will finish! and we will all feel great about the day. chat a bit if the spirit strikes you and your neighbors or just wave to those still working and head out. writing can be a lonely activity, getting to know our partners help foster more motivation(and peer pressure :)) but also feel free to leave early. this is a very casual group, the main goal is to provide silent partnership in getting work/writing done.

9:30 - Brief Introductions (name and project you working on, goal for today)
9:45 am - Shut up and Write! During this Marathon, feel free to take your personal small breaks, stand up and walk around.
12:30 pm - lunch, chat, walk, relax, get to know each other. (let us know if you want to be interrupted for lunch by responding to the question when RSVPing or listen to the alarm on my phone!).
1:00 pm-- Shut up and Write
3:30 pm--finish

If you're spending too much time THINKING about writing, come and join us for a session of focused writing. It may just be "pipe-cleaning" for now, but you'll feel better showing up at the page. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice.

Please make sure to purchase beverages and/or food during the time you are there to make sure we are welcomed back.

Directions: 19th Bart is the closest(about 5 blocks walk). parking would be difficult, always a few does drive and find meters. We choose the coffee shops to be both Bart friendly as well as being great open spaces and serve lunch. (and alway welcome new suggestions of anything new around the area and close to Bart opens up, message me)
