Shut Up & Write! North County

You will see progress in your writing project by spending the minimum of a single hour per week on it. This is your practice/focus time, so we hope to see you there.

This is a group that got its start in San Francisco and has expanded to NYC and now Southern California! We are now starting a group in Carlsbad, just off the beach. It's A Grind has some parking on the street and plenty more behind the coffee shop off of Beech. Look for the Meetup and Shut Up & Write! signs at the table.

Join other writers for an hour of focused writing!

Our typical itinerary looks like the following:
- 11:30: Introductions
- 11:40: Get down to business...write for an hour
- 12:40: Brief Check-in
- People can continue to work, chat, or take off as they like.

If you're spending too much time THINKING about writing, come and join us for a session of focused writing. It may just be "pipe-cleaning" for now, but you'll feel better showing up at the page. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice.

“You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children.”

Great session today, all! Glad to see Sarah return and new faces Steve, Mike, and Beau. Another formal Meetup in two weeks, possibly an informal "FlashWrite!" next Sunday...hoping for more inspiration and great discussion. Who says writers have to be lonely? :)

I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, I am running late from my previous engagement so won't be joining today. Happy writing to all.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
