I would like to learn about the aspects of Sicilian food that you don't often hear about, beyond the red sauce. Also, perhaps a chance to travel there?
Both my mother and grandmother learned to cook from a Sicilian immigrant, but I'm not sure how much of what they cooked was authentically Sicilian, since they were cooking in NYC and the ingredients, etc. may have changed.
Although I have an Irish name, 3 of my great-grandparents emigrated from Sicily in the early 20th century. I'm looking forward to learning about (and eating) more of Sicily.
