My name is Jean Ergas and I grew up in Italy and am bilingual Italian - English. I have visited Sicily and was struck by the beauty of the island, the tremendous human warmth and friendliness of the people and by the excellent cuisine !

I have visited Sicily and toured the island fairly extensively in my youth. It was an amazing experience and opened my eyes to a completely different culture from that of Rome, where I was raised.

I am extremely interested in history and am fascinated by all the different cultural influences reflected in Sicilian cuisine.

Yes ! There are few dishes tastier than an excellent caponata and the pastries are simply unbelievable !
