Please tell us if you have ever been to Sicily and why you are interested in joining this group.

I love to share my heritage, especially the food. (I've tasted the food in all Regions of Italy except Sardinia. I still must get there to complete my goal of visiting all 20 Regions of Italy!)

Do you speak Italian and/or Sicilian? If so, what level?

Abbastanza! I also speak Sicilian (somewhat)

Send us your favorite memory, story or thought about Sicily please.

Any time I think of my maternal grandmother!

What would you like to learn most about Sicily and its food? What are your interests?

I think I already answered this. http://scn.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C3%A0ggina_principali [this link is for Wikipedia in the SICILIAN LANGUAGE]

Have you tasted the food & wine of Sicily? What do you know about it?

Yes! I know quite a lot about the cuisine, both povero e ricco (peasant cooking and that of the monzù).

Introduction

My heritage is 100% Sicilian! I've been to Italy some 30 times (19 Regions) & Sicily 4 times. The older I get, the more interest I have in things Sicilian. What a privilage it is to share this wonderful culture! I can even read Sicilian!

What VincentTitone is saying about this Meetup Group

It is a wonderful {there is that word again} thing to have an interest in things Italian, or more specifically, Sicilian. It is certainly what some would call: "A preview of Heaven!" When God created the world, He made Italy the center; and Sicily is the key to the soul of Italy.
