This will be a great opportunity to shake the rust off and get out once again to enjoy the fresh air during a 3 hour/ 5 Km hike south of Calgary. It's an easy walk with great views of downtown Calgary and the mountains to the west. Children and dogs are also welcome on this hike. Opened in 1969, it is rich in flora and fauna and has an old sawmill there as well.
WHAT TO BRING:
* Good hiking shoes or boots, preferably waterproof
* Non-cotton clothing appropriate for the weather
* Lunch and plenty of water
* A camera to record the day, if you like
CARPOOLING AND GETTING THERE:
We will leave from MEC at 9:30 a.m., so please be there by 9:15 so that we can pool up and be ready to leave on time. For those of you who live in the far south, you can meet us there and we should be at the parking lot by no later than 10:30 a.m. As usual, please advise us on this board if you are driving or riding so that we can plan to use as few vehicles as possible to cut down on emissions. A stipend of $5 per passenger is suggested to cover the cost of driving. See you next Sunday!
Take either Deerfoot or MacLeod Trail to 22X and head west and turn left onto 22 South. Turn right onto Township Rd 220, left onto Range Rd 33 which eventually turns right and becomes Plummers Rd. The park is accessed from Plummers Rd.
