Happy Hour in the Hills - Reynolds Park

What better way to celebrate summer than by spending your Friday evenings hiking the foothills instead of being stuck in some bar? We'll spend each Friday (June-July) out in the foothills on short hikes that average around 5 miles round-trip. This hike is about 4.5 miles round-trip with an elevation gain of 800 feet.  This hike is rated easy to moderate and will have several stops so that we can chat and get to know one another because it IS happy hour after all!  For more information and to register, contact Colleen Finnerty at [masked] or email me at [masked] by 10am June 20th.
All participants must sign a waiver in order to go on this hike. These hikes are for adults only with no dogs.  Remember that it is summer so it will be hot and sunny; bring plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat.  You may also want to bring something to eat since we will be out hiking at dinnertime.

This was a good meetup, but it was sad that we had to change the location because of the fire at Reynolds Park.

Kathy and I knew that Reynolds park was closed but I'm Just seeing your change of venue. After we saw the park closing she and I decided to take our dogs up to Mt. Falcon. You don't allow pets (which is fine) but guess we won't see you this time. Soon I hope!

Yikes! Thanks for shooting this out to me Ellen. We will definitely NOT be hiking in Reynolds Park tomorrow. I've never been to Meyer Ranch and prefer leading hikes that I'm familiar with so I suggest Mount Falcon Park. I've included a map: https://www.co.jefferson.co.us/j...

We would meet in the parking lot off Mount Falcon Road and take the Parmalee Trail to the Tower Trail. This is a mostly forested hike.

Please let me know if you are unable to attend this hike because of the change in venue. Again, thanks Ellen. Scary times for the forests right now.

I watched the 9pm news and it looks like there is a new fire (Lime Gulch) near Reynolds Park. We might want to have a backup plan of going to Meyer Ranch which is at US285 and South Turkey Creek Rd just east of Aspen Park. Meyer Ranch is a favorite short hike (4.5 - 5 miles) with a bit of climbing. There are nice rocks on top tor a picnic spot, plus you are in the trees a lot. Just a thought.

Hi All! Here is the park map link https://www.co.jefferson.co.us/j.... If you would like a copy of the map, please print it out and bring it with you on the hike. Please remember to bring a head lamp. We will meet at a picnic area in the northwest parking lot and our hike begins at the Elkhorn Trail trail head.

Please make a special note that we will leave for the hike at 5:30; no exceptions. In order for you to have time to gather your gear, go to the restroom, sign the waiver etc., I would suggest that you arrive between 5:00 and 5:15.

I look forward to seeing you all Friday! Have a great week!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
