THE RCK 2-3 SUPER TRAINING COURSE: This is the first 2 days of a 4 day stretch of rock climbing from the basics of lead climbing to multi-pitch mixed alpine climbing, with RCK 1 sign-off potential. For current SMC members only. Not a member yet? Join here.
RCK 2 is SMC's intermediate rock climbing training course spanning basic toproping through confident lead climbing. Students will learn how to set and assess single, multi-point, natural and artificial anchors, belay a leader and follower, effectively transition at the belay, rappell, lower, and utilize more advanced climbing techniques all outdoors on great rock over two days. The RCK 2 course is open to all members, but those with RCK 1, prior toproping or gym climbing experience will be best prepared by knowing how to tie in, belay, and basic climbing techniques and principles. We have room for 10 students.
