Ice Climbing

FYI Ice Climbing.. Just to let everyone know the ice is in, solid and blue at Cascade Falls... If you have been waiting and have the skills, get ready.

Go thru Tahoe toward Emerald Bay to the entrance of Bayview Campground. Park and hike thru the campground to the big sign at the trailhead. Behind the sign the trails are marked, Right to Maggies Peaks and Left to Cascade Falls. Go left for less than one mile and you will come to the top of the falls. You will need to set your top rope anchor from one of the trees (the tree on the right is best if available). You must have 2 50m ropes..or longer. The only way down is to rap down. Rap down and climb on! Great place to practice setting pro with ice screws..

This info come from me personally and has no connection to the activities of SMC. Ice climbing is a dangerous sport. Be Safe! You are on you own!
