Have you updated your profile lately with your current skills and fitness level? If not, we don't have you most current information - and we use this to inform RSVPs. Click here to update your profile. The manual pathway is 1. You must go to www.sierramountaineeringgroup.org and sign in, 2. Click "Your Profile" top right, 3. Click "Update" in secondary nav bar, top left and bring us up to date!

When you join SMC, you'll receive our member handbook which explains all about the club, including how to RSVP, how to get signed off on proficiencies, and our climbs and expeditions. Click this link to see a digital copy for reference.

Most of you receiving this email are not official members of the club yet. Mountaineering season is coming fast and now is the best time to begin or renew your annual membership for only $80 to be a part of the action. There are some exciting changes that have occurred in the past several months here at SMC:

  • 196 Students have signed up to take our new mountaineering training courses since October of 2013, and the courses are receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews
  • 120 new dues-paying members have joined SMC since we enhanced the Club’s course offerings and changed to the new dues structure in November
  • 90 climbing events are currently scheduled on our calendar between now and the end of the year - including expeditions planned to Colorado, Oregon, Utah and Washington State.  More trips are in the planning stages so look for this number to increase.
  • 15 Event Leaders are now either trained or in the process of being trained to lead official climbs for the Club
  • Enhanced Website: A new website design that allows you to quickly view and signup for upcoming climbs and courses
