Talk by Monica at Semantic Garage in San Francisco on Oct. 19 6PM

I'll be giving a talk at Semantic Garage Meetup in San Francisco on Oct. 19 at 6 PM about my usual stuff :-)

Abstract: Current methods for using computers to deal with human languages start from incorrect premises which limit the attainable precision. I will expose the real problem, discuss problems with current methods, and give a glimpse of which way the field is (or should be) heading. Adoption of these new strategies requires an astonishingly deep and controversial re-think with large impact in several related disciplines including Artificial Intelligence as a whole.

Bio: Monica Anderson is Director of Research at Syntience Inc, a pure research company developing an algorithm to allow computers to truly understand human languages expressed as text
