POSTPONED - David Strauss on the Valhalla Distributed File System

Due to a scheduling conflict, David's talk has been postponed. We will reschedule for January.

----

Since David first blogged about it, the Cassandra-backed Valhalla distributed file system design has evolved considerably.

Imagine delivering a highly available network file system to tens of thousands of containers with full directory support and with the 90th percentile latency better than a local rotating disk. Imagine doing it for 1/3 the cost of renting a single NetApp box from Rackspace.

David will walk through walk through lessons learned in Pantheon's data models and operations.

Speaker Bio: David is the recognized leader in the Drupal ecosystem when it comes to scalability and database optimization. He serves as a member of the Drupal.org Infrastructure and Security teams. A cofounder of Four Kitchens, he’s also worked with the Wikimedia Foundation, Creative Commons and the Internet Archive, and is a permanent member of the Drupal Association.
