Thanks Bala, nicely done!

Thank you for the meetup and thanks for the help Bala, I just pushed to QA I was able to deliver through the tips you gave me. Most important one, I think, is to focus in one thing and then move on to the next one as there are so many moving parts with Raisl (coffeescript, active record, html, css....)

Worthwhile meetup. Perhaps I'll move to sublime text 2 from vim after tonight. Red hat openshift looks interesting. I might have helped Jeb, he'll have to let me know.
I'd like to get some code reviews for my first published gem "parley". Any takers?

The md formatting of the readme is messed up. It makes it difficult to learn about the gem. It would be great to have an examples directory that shows how to accomplish tasks using this gem. I read the code. It is well-written. The tests are not easy to read, but that's because I am more comfortable with rspec.
Thanks for the comments. I have an update in the works. Check back after the weekend.

I'll add an examples directory too.
I really like the range of experience with ruby (from novice to ninja). Everyone was very helpful and it's great to share notes and ideas about respective projects.
Sadly I will be out of town on Thursday. :(

That sucks :( I'm struggling with this accepts_nested.... as well, ping me back whenever you can so we can pair.
Same day as Waza :-(
Hi, I'm a newbie but happy to help if I can. I'd also love to get help with some general data modeling questions.

Working with nested models displayed in a table format and I am having problems deleting. Also, would like to disable the new row if the users max rows have been exceeded.

Hey I'm working on something like this. Are you using accepts_nested_attributes_for ?
yes... and I got it working last night. Two issues: I was using JQuery in Coffee to update the _destroy hidden field... What is needed to do was send a destroy to the correct controller and I had a newbie mistake doing a build on my two models so the result was I always had an empty row
<% if scbuilder.object.persisted? %>+ <%=link_to "remove", scbuilder.object, method: :delete %>+ <%end%>
the above only removes if the object has been saved... and sends the "delete" to the correct controller's destroy method
the routing is done via the scbuilder.object
<%= builder.fields_for :social_channels do |scbuilder| %>
hope this helps!
That's great Hector!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
